Natural History Museum Oslo

The University of Oslo and the Natural History Museum have a long tradition in economic geology that goes back to the foundation of Kongsberg School of Mines in 1757, which was integrated in the university in 1811. Today research and teaching in economic geology focuses on the genesis of raw materials found in pegmatite-type deposits. The Mineralogy Team translates the genetic information into exploration strategies applicable by the mining industry. GREENPEG Project is coordinated by Prof. Axel Müller and his Mineralogy Team based at the Natural History Museum.
