The Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto (UPORTO) has a long experience in the research of different types of ore deposits with a focus on rare-element mineralizations related to magmatic environments, specially in pegmatites. Our role in Greenpeg comprises satellite remote sense and also the litogeochemistry of pegmatites and their alteration halos (using portable equipments like LIBS), and their implications to pegmatites exploration. Social impacts of this research will be studied.
